Ethnic Fest 2009

The Bahá’ís of Pierce County once again hosted an information booth and a children’s activity booth at Tacoma’s annual Ethnic Fest, held each year the last weekend of July, this year July 25th and 26th. This celebration of diversity is an excellent way to get to know our neighbors and to give them a comfortable venue to meet us.  In two days we met many people, handed out about 500 helium filled balloons, and children (and some adults) made abut 450 race unity bracelets.

Five colors of beads are set out for children to make their race unity bracelets.

 One God

One human race

One religion

God’s Word is one light that has come to us in many lamps.

Our twin booths were a great attraction.

Let the realization of the unity of the human race illumine your spirit and guide your thoughts and actions.

The utterance of God is a lamp, whose light is these words: Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch. Deal ye one with another with the utmost love and harmony, with friendliness and fellowship. He Who is the Day Star of Truth beareth Me witness! So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth. The one true God, He Who knoweth all things, Himself testifieth to the truth of these words.
