Vision, Strategy and Planning

Our Regional Bahá’í Council of the Northwestern States hosted a special meeting in early August for all members of Local Spiritual Assemblies and Area Teaching Committees in southwestern Washington. This special meeting, which was held at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, was one of four regional meetings held in Oregon and Washington. The purpose of the gatherings was to build vision and enthusiasm for teaching the Faith leading up to the bicentenary of the Birth of the Báb in late October and beyond.
Following opening comments, we divided into break-out groups where we sat with people who were not in our community or cluster, as much as was possible. This gave us the advantage of benefiting from a rich cross-fertilization of ideas from friends with whom we usually don’t have contact. After a break, we met with the members of LSAs and ATCs in our respective clusters so that we could consult on the next steps of our plans. Finally, each Spiritual Assembly met and formed its plans, writing them down on a poster. Each Spiritual Assembly then taped its poster to the wall so that we could all see the product of our combined consultations. Photographs of the posters are shown below.
